Château Puy-Blanquet, Grand Cru, Saint-Emilion

Med udsigt over Dordogne-dalen i en landsby 3 kilometer øst for Saint-Émilion ligger denne smukke vingård plantet på en ler-kalkstenskråning. Takket være de nordlige og østlige parceller nyder vinmarken perfekt morgensolskin.

Château Puy-Blanquet var kendt som en af de bedste Saint Émilion Grand Crus så tidligt som i det 19. århundrede, og blev også tildelt en del af den kollektive guldmedalje, der blev tildelt et udvalg af Saint-Émilion slotte ved Paris-udstillingen i 1889.

Indtil 2020 var vingården ejet af Jacquet-familien og drevet af Pierre Meunier, som blev trænet af selveste Jean Pierre Moueix med ægte respekt for tradition og kvalitet

Beautifully ripe and sexy, with a massive bouquet of blackcurrants, macerated black cherries, and smoked earth, it’s full-bodied, opulent, and layered on the palate, with serious fruit. This brilliant wine will be approachable in its youth yet also evolve gracefully for 15 years or more. It should also be an incredible value.”
